Director of Media

Brooks Carter is entering his 3rd season in his Director of Media role at The Creek, and his 4th overall with the program.
His roles for the Coahulla Creek football program include managing the team’s website, producing content for social media pages, serving as the executive producer, editor, and host of The Coahulla Creek Football Show, and the voice of the Colts on their radio network (The Coahulla Creek Sports Network).
Brooks was born and raised in Dalton, GA, attending and playing football at Northwest Whitfield High School. He is a proud alumnus of The University of Alabama, where he studied Communications. While at UA, Brooks was the Sports Director for the university’s student radio station, WVUA-FM.
Following his time in Tuscaloosa, Brooks spent a year (2015-16) in Nashville working as a production and promotions assistant for ESPN 102.5 The Game. After that, he moved back to his hometown market, Chattanooga, TN, where he spent the next 3.5 years. During his time in Chattanooga, he worked for Channel 3 WRCB-TV as a Photojournalist (from 2016-2018). While at Channel 3, Brooks covered Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee football & basketball, as well as high school football all across the Tennessee Valley and Northwest Georgia areas. His top highlights included covering 3 NCAA Tournaments, 2 SEC Basketball Tournaments, 2 SEC Football Championships, and the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship. After working at Channel 3, Brooks moved over to work for ESPN Radio Chattanooga, where he was the Assistant Program Director & On-Air Host from 2017-2019. He also started the Coahulla Creek Sports Network in 2019, calling all 10 of the Colts’ football games that season.
Following his time working in Chattanooga, he moved to Milwaukee, WI (from 2019-2022) where he worked a year for ESPN Radio and WTMJ-AM. Brooks then moved back into television full-time, working as a photojournalist for CBS 58. While working for CBS 58, he covered the Milwaukee Bucks run to an NBA Title in 2021, as well as covering the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and Wisconsin Badgers. During his time at CBS 58, Brooks won a Wisconsin Broadcasters’ Association Award for his efforts with the morning news team.
In 2022, Brooks returned to Alabama, moving with his family to Birmingham, where he now works for ABC 33/40 News. So far, since working there, he has covered Alabama, Auburn, UAB, and Samford football and basketball, in addition to top news stories across Central Alabama.
Brooks is a proud husband, and father of 2. His family are active in attending and serving at Church of the Highlands.
