Colts looking to continue winning momentum on road at Union County

Coahulla Creek hits the road for the final time of the regular season

After an exciting victory over the Murray County Indians last week, the Colts are ready to hit the road for a matchup against the Union County Panthers. Coming off a strong home win, the Colts are using the momentum to fuel a week full of focused practice, dedication, and passion. Head Coach Drew Carter explains “Practice has been good coming off the win, that gave us the confidence that we were hoping for and the energy we were hoping for.” Our Colts are preparing a lot for this game on Friday to prove their hard work.

The players are energized after their last performance, where teamwork and perseverance led to a memorable victory. Senior WR Kobe King tells us the win “motivates us, especially the margin we won by, going into Union County on a roll.” The team has been putting in extra effort during practice building chemistry on both sides of the ball. The players feel very dedicated, and are thirsty for more. Tyler Douglas notes how winning the last game motivated him because “it helps with our team and how our attitudes are toward every game after this and how to prepare.”

Traveling to Union County this week presents new challenges for the team, but it also offers an opportunity to prove their resilience and adaptability. Coach Carter emphasized “the challenge this week will be the long road trip, so how can we handle that. But as long as we can continue to build and duplicate that energy and preparation that we have, I really like where we’re going.” With being out of school Monday and Tuesday it gave our players more time for practice, and more time for preparation. From offensive plays to defensive formation, every detail has been practiced to ensure readiness for Friday night’s game.

According to King his biggest focus this week during the game is “not get down when something goes wrong and have to be able to keep playing through adversity.” Along with King’s biggest focus, Douglas states his biggest focus is “play the most physical I’ve played this season and get a lot of yardage.” The team’s energy and motivation is not just fueled by the previous win but by the shared goal of continuing the season on a high note. Coach Carter mentions, as we continue the rest of the season, the shared goal of winning, “I am hoping we can start stacking up some wins and at that point you never know what may happen, if our guys are playing confident and they’re believing in each other, you hope that good things are going to come and they’re going to continue to replicate that.”

As the Colts travel to Union County this week kickoff is set for 7:30, marking final away match up of the regular season. The players are determined to bring home a win as they take on Union County, and their focus and preparation have been great throughout the week. With the Colts giving their all on the field, the team is hoping to see supportive fans filling the stands, cheering loudly, and providing energy that gives our Colts more motivation. Every encouragement will help motivate the team as they aim to finish strong on the road.

If you can’t make the trip to the game, you can tune into the game on the Coahulla Creek Sports Network. Pregame coverage is scheduled to begin around 7:10pm.
