Colts eager to start season’s 2nd half “with a bang”
After the final bye week the Colts hit the road again, traveling to LFO this Friday to face the Warriors. With the extra time they have had to prepare and regroup, the team is looking to come out and play with more power, and a sharper focus than before. Head Coach Drew Carter tells us, “Our guys look like they’re ready to get back on the field and excited about being in game week.” The bye week gave the players time to rest, recover, and most importantly, put in extra work on the field. Coaches worked on strengthening our players both offensively and defensively. The team has used the break to build momentum and eliminate mistakes shown in past games.
Our Colts know that preparation and determination is going to be the key factor the second half of the season. Players have been working hard to execute with more discipline, stay strong in trenches, and finish drives in the red zone. Coach Carter explains how confidence is key “and then those guys have confidence in each other.” This game will mark another chance for our Colts to prove themselves.
Our Offensive Player of the Week WR Wyatt Mann emphasizes that he is ready to catch the ball, make explosive plays, and “outrun six or seven guys.” Defensive Player of the Week LB Branson Lowery explains how he is ready “to go out there and attack.” Our players are ready to get back out on the field.
The Colts did some really positive things during the first half of the season, but certainly saw themselves fall short in some areas. That’s why Coahulla Creek is looking to start this game vs. LFO with a bang, and jumpstart the 2nd half to the season. Coach Carter notes that he knows “we had a blip a few weeks back where we felt like our focus wasn’t great, but since then, since I’ve challenged them with that, I feel like it’s been good.” With great confidence from our coaches and players we are ready to attack LFO this Friday.
We can expect an intense game this Friday against the Warriors. To boost our players’ confidence even more, it would be great to see our community come to join us in Fort Oglethorpe this Friday night with kickoff set for 7:30. Be there and be loud this to support our team in the stands!
