Team Captain, All-Region lineman pushing Colts for more in 2025
31 consecutive starts, 2x Team Captain, 2x All-Region… Chevy Joyce has been a permanent fixture up front for the Coahulla Creek Colts over the past 3 seasons, and he isn’t finish yet.
The rising senior has not missed a single game in his entire high school football career, in fact he barely even missed a snap starting on both the offensive line and defensive line last season.
How does he hardly ever come off the field as a 2-way player in the trenches?
“The best way to stay fresh is to prepare. Push yourself at practice to the point of exhaustion, and the games will be a lot easier.

Joyce has earned the respect of his teammates and coaches over the course of his career at The Creek. He has twice been voted a team captain by the coaching staff. With that respect, he has seen his role as a leader grow amongst the team.
“Having the opportunity to be a team captain gives me the confidence to point out a teammates wrong doing, or tell them to pick it up. I used to be scared to speak up, but now they’re like my family.”
He says his personal goals are simple heading into his final season at The Creek: “To make the least amount of mistakes as possible, and to play to the best of my ability”.
With the Colts coming off a season many would like to forget, Joyce says he and his teammates are using 2024 as fuel to become a better team in 2025. “We have pushed ourselves harder than ever during this offseason. I am confident this season will be a lot more successful.”
His team goals include making it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2022, and “working together as a team to minimize mistakes”, something that was an Achilles heal for the Colts in 2024.
