Coahulla Creek Colts dropping down to AA from AAA
The GHSA has announced their initial classification placements for the next two school years (following the current one).
One big change this year was the elimination of 7A, which meant condensing 7 classifications down to 6. With the change, Coahulla Creek will be moving from 3A down to 2A, where they will be for the first time in school history.
Other teams that will be in 2A, and likely in the Colts’ region are:
- Ringgold
- LFO
- North Murray
- Murray County
- Rockmart
- Darlington
There is potential too for a few other teams to be in our new region too. Haralson County is a team, that in the past, has been in our region. They are currently slotted to be in 2A.
REMINDER: Nothing is set-in-stone yet, as some teams will go through an appeals process to try and get moved up or down classifications. Teams also always have the choice to play up a classification (like Gordon Lee has done the last 2 seasons in our current region).
